Another week and another survey, this time revealing what our favourite film car is. James Bond’s Aston Martin DB10 has been named as the most iconic car in TV & Film history, according to a new study by financial services company, Zopa.

The DB10 was followed by Inspector Morse's maroon MK II Jag with half a percent between this and third, Toretto’s Dodge Charger from The Fast and The Furious. Next came Doc Brown’s DeLorean from the 1985 hit film Back to the Future and completing the top 5 motors was John Steed’s Bentley from The Avengers.

Do You Daydream About Your Dream Car?

According to the research, a third (32%) of UK drivers admit they daydream about their favourite car, with Aston Martin the most popular choice, just ahead of Audi and Lamborghini. More than two thirds (76%) of Brits would love a top of the range modern car, but 21% would love to own a classic motor.

How Much Would You Spend On A Car?

A beady-eyed 70% of Brits always notice what car a TV or film character drives and 22% said they have even been inspired to buy a certain make or model of car because a character on TV drove it. If money weren’t an option, the average Brit said they would spend over £300,000 on their dream wheels.

What Would You Like Most In Your Car?

The most common feature Brits would like to see in their dream car is air conditioning (72%), followed by sat nav (63%) and an all singing, all dancing stereo system (60%). 57% would like to treat themselves to a vehicle with heated seats and 42% would like to experience the wind in their hair with a convertible roof.

How Long Have You Had Your Car?

According to the poll, most motorists (44%) get a new car every five years, although over a quarter (26%) are driving a car they have owned for over 10 years.

2. Inspector Morse’s Vintage Jaguar, 14%

Found in a scrapyard and teased into life it was an unreliable croc on set and was actually a 1960 2.4 Daimler which was otherwise identical to the Jaguar, but was fitted with badges and grille of the more well known marque. Now the above may not be Inspector Morse's but we think it is an excellent example.
